    Ran down to a pond after work and got a few pictures of a Common Loon and Semipalmated plovers.

    Left over from the mining era in Nome, Alaska. With the current gold prices areas are getting torn up again with a modern gold rush of sorts. This Arctic Tern was hunting in this small pond for invertebrates.

    Red-throated loon taking off from a small tundra pond. This shot is full frame just cropped to a 1:2 ratio. He was pretty close.
