    Two million and one

    Today, I returned to my house in Wales. When I arrived I noticed there were crusty droppings on the floor, not unlike the body fluid that moths squirt if disturbed. Strange to find these in December - and so many of them; on the window sills, the cupboard doors, the bathroom sink. I noticed too...

    Starling Roosts Dudwell Mountain Dec 2009

    starling roost at plumstone The birds are still there in immense numbers - i reckon near on 2 million last night. But they are at the northern end of the wood, up the track towards the abattoir. Hen harriers and a peregrine last night too. See my blog at www.my-little-i.blogspot.com for a video
