    Nyger or sunflower seeds?

    It can take weeks for Goldfinch to find your nyger seed but once they do they hammer it. Redpolls are starting to feed on nyger in Norfolk UK, i wondered if this is being observed in other parts of the country?

    Well I did start the day at Levington and walked to Trimley reserve. Nothing out of the ordinary, Peregrine over the pools, a few Bearded Tit and Water Rail. I did have probably my latest record for Northern Wheatear and what was really weird was it flew off the field and landed on the hide roof...

    What was the first bird you ringed?

    Cannot remember exactly but very likely a Reed Bunting in the early 70's when hundreds used to come into roost. It was common place to ring just over a hundred a night.

    Hope the weather is not crap I am hoping to do the Suffolk coast this coming weekend. Hope to have my first visit to Languard. Any locations will be appreciated, I have done Minsmere a few times and Dunwich but other than that I will be out with my maps.
