    I also have had the RS7 for 3 years and used it with a 300 2.8 and 500 f4 there is very slight wear,i tend to keep my hand on the lens whilst walking reducing the abrasive effects of the two metals rubbing together...

    Christine I use a manfrotto 679b for my 300 2.8,i actually use a Lensmaster lightweight gimbal,i used to own a 400 f5.6 and i used the manfrotto 234 tilt head with no problems.. All the best with your recovery... Paul

    Anson Bank is a safe bet,park in the cafe car park near the Katyn Memorial,cross the road bear left for about 200 metres and then cut off to the right,(the path should be visible) then carry on till you reach an obvious clearing....... Good luck Paul
