    Bat from Canada

Good pics In my area, the big brown bat seems to have filled the void left by the declining numbers of little brown bats. The big brown is also more likely to hibernate compared to the little brown. Makes sense for Canada in November. I have seen a lot of bat activity with the warmer temps...

    Ct weasel

Just wanted to share. I was evicting flying squirrels from a home, with a one way door and holding cage set over an opening when this guy came out. The weasel was hunting Flyers in the attic and ceiling spaces of the home. Pretty amazing and weasels while maybe not rare are not common either...

    Daytime bats?

It's not unusual for most animals to be active, at times, outside their normal active periods (nocturnal, diurnal or crepuscular). Disturbance by humans or other creatures, birthing, migration, sick, breeding, weather esp. approaching storms, feeding, young that don't know any better yet. I've seen...

    Are Skunks a protected species?

Mloyko, I handle skunks for a living so I'd love to give some advice here. If a skunk is shot in the head, the possibility of the Rabies Virus becoming airborne is very real. If the skunk is shot in the lungs, it is over 50% chance it will spray but more importantly, it may run to it's...

    Red Squirrel Feeders

Do red and grey squirrels occur in the same places, I thought it was one or the other. Red and Grays can occur in the same areas if the natural food sources/habitat for both are present, esp. with the Reds. Rhode Island and North West Ct are good examples of this...

    Owls

Shark attack beat me to it. Calling has worked great for us. I will add that we have used a cassette tape and CDs with the Owl calls on them to call (as well as natural voice) The tapes and CDs can't be beat for results. I've had barred Owls land on the gutter , above my head while we were...

My son opened up the fireplace damper to start a fire and out dropped this little fellow. Never made a peep so it must have just dropped in today. As it was dark, it flew into the spruce tree behind the house to spend the night. A nice ray of sunshine on this cold cold November day...

Anyone had a unique experience with Bats at all

No surprise theres so many replies. I could write a book, lol I have been in attic many times with them flying by and it never ceases to amaze me how they make eye contact with you as they go by. I see a lot drop out from behind trim as well, sometimes just because we put a ladder up. One...

    Have Bat – need help!

I have no idea re: your laws but that is good advice. People are so prone to act when they don't know what to do and in that case, hands off is best. In what seems to be a large building, it is normal to have bats roosting inside and get active towards dusk. I doubt it was trapped in. Unless the...
