    Many thanks - I considered Yellow Tyrannulet at the time but the head pattern didn't feel right, it appeared to have a grey cap and the markings on the face didn't seem to fit with Yellow Tyrannulet but as you say it can hard to judge colour.

    Thanks Jane and Larry Yep, looks good for water pipit - and I understand blakistoni is pretty variable - though still slightly mystified by the leg colour. Below is a pretty poor photo but hopefully shows the pinkish legs, is that still consistent for water pipit? Thanks again Ben
