    Peregrines

Pair of Peregrines with 2 fledged young in the disused Newhey Quarry, Newhey (Rochdale). Young seen flying and feeding, 1 on a pigeon (with a blue leg ring) and 1 on what looked like a House Sparrow from a distance. Both adults provided food, then flew off to find more after around 90 mins...

Ever seen such a white House Sparrow

I saw one in a hedgerow at the side of the road into Hull (coming from Spurn ironically), also in the 90s. It was with a small flock of sparrows at the time.

Are our fellow European birders better than UK birders.

I started taking an interest in birds in the early 1980s but didn't feel confident to list them until 1987, by which time I knew the more common species. Consequently, when I found my 1st rarity (Tawny Pipit, Fairburn Ings 1989, accepted by the YNU) I KNEW it was a rare bird, but also knew...

Top birds from a moving vehicle!

Looking at the 'Truly rare bird' thread reminded me of top birds I've seen from a moving vehicle. My 'best' two are male Paradise Flycatcher from a bus going to Bahalawapur airport and male Lesser Florican at the side of a runway at Lahore airport seen 'jumping' as the plane landed! The latter...

Two Birds for I.D...please for Singh brain...

I think that it is Bronzed Drongo. I've seen many Black Drongos in Pakistan and they don't shimmer as much as the picture shows. Also, the red round they eye isn't as vivid or as extensive-looking as Manjeet's picture shows.

I had Little Bunting at Loch Ruthven accepted by the SBRC in the early 90s. My claim to fame north of the border!

Thanks for the welcome Keith. My last visit to Yorks coincided with Bulls playing Cougars pre-season lol. Walked round Silsden Floods and had 4 Grey Partridge having a good old go at each other, with a 2nd pair chasing each other all over the field! Also had Dipper & Grey Wagtail on small beck...
