    I'm also thinking of selling my birds of Britain books by rb sharpe from 1896, vol 1 and 11, not a full set i know, origanally vol 1-15. Any one know how much they are worth, click link below to my blog for some amazing plates from the books. cheers steve

    Thinking of selling my encyclopedia of birds mags from the 1970's, it's a shame as 3 copies are missing :( 17,30,46. I have 88 copies in total, they are in very good condition and are a great read with some amazing plates in and some up close photography, they also have info on new reserves back...

    Heavy rain all day in the area would of no doubt caused the water levels to of risen, the bird wasnt seen all day sunday and there was no rain then. Give it a go if you want? But if you have a good journey ahead of you it might be best to hang on to see if its reported again, the area is well...

    Little gull? Anyone know who had the little gull at shibdon pond today at 1.30pm? As i was at shibdon between 1pm and 2pm, there was only about 30 gulls on the pond and i scanned them twice and there was no little gull with them when i looked, unless it flew in and did off straight away?     Escaped golden eagle reported in derwent valley around the same time as reported wt eagle, could of been mistaken for a wt eagle if it was a juv goldie with its white tail? The goldie is back in the hands of the falconer now. Maybe the chopwell eagle sighting was genuine and the rest hoaxes...

    Hi michael Just had report of an escaped golden eagle in the derwent valley around the time of the chopwell eagle sighting, the falconer recovered the eagle after it was hit by a car on fellside :-( this was maybe the eagle first reported on birdline over chopwell woods? Merry xmas Steve

    only 8 waxwings at blaydon today (1 in morning, 7 afternoon) no berries left, 15 waxwings at blaydon cemetary, few waxwings at asda carpark and 1 reported at lamesley. Im sure they will be some more around the metrocentre as theres loads of berries in this area? Cheers steve

    i june the waxwings can be found at the entrance to the railway station (next to shell garage on big roundabout), they are feeding on berries in this area, if they arnt on this side of the road they can be found in poplars on the other side of road (back entrance to shops, near macdonalds). you...
