    Ground Guards

my house backs on to a wood with a healthy squirrel population, and as soon as I put feed on my ground feeder it is swamped with them and larger birds. If I got one of those ground guards from CJ's would they also prevent medium sized birds such as blackbirds from accessing the feeder? Thanks

A pink scope? Oh well, each to their own...:) I own a nice green one with the zoom lens, and it's absolutely super! I went along to a sale at the local wetlands the other week, and it was far superior to a lot of scopes that cost £100 more!

    Sparrow Terrace nest box

Hi, I'm tempted to get one of those sparrow terrace boxes, but cannot put it high on the house as I already have reguarly used small bird nest boxes there. Would they still use them if they were on a fence about 6-8ft high? And has anybody had any success with them? Cheers Rob

8x42 BL vs best budget porros

I tested the BL 8x42's on Saturday, and I thought they were superb! Personally i thought they provided a better image than a pair of pentax bins that were £700!

    ed50?

Tested both scopes out last week (ED50 and IS60) and like previous posters said, there wasn't a huge amount of difference! However, I found the image on the ED50 was superb at the ranges I would use it for, it was a bit sharper than the IS60, so I bought one! (ED5o that is) I took the ED50 to...

    ed50?

Hi, I'm still in the process of buying my 1st scope - seem to be stuck on the decision between an ED50 which gets super reviews and the opticron IS60 with a HDF eye piece. Anybody used both / any advice? Cheers

Hi Steve, I live about 15 mins from Whiteford, but Wednesday was the 1st day birding there! I have to admit I thought the place was superb, not just the views from the hide, but what you see on the nice walk to it. Good idea about keeping people posted, I am going to have a look there...
