    Birding in Heathrow Airport

Very kind of you, Steve. As far as I know there's only myself here and an ecologist based at Gatwick in Britain. No idea about abroad though. I stand to be corrected.

    Birding in Heathrow Airport

Depends greatly on what view you have of the airfield. It will be mostly common stuff: Starling, House Sparrow, Carrion Crow, Feral Pigeon, Woodpigeon. Skylarks breed on the airfield and Kestrels regularly hunt. Red Kite and Common Buzzard may be seen overheard. Peregrine, Black Redstart...

    Nerja in November

Just up the coast to the west is the resort of Torox. There is a dry river bed here worth exploring and the road up into the hills to old Torox village were quite productive too.

Iztuzu Beach, nr Dalyan, Turkey. 5/9/22 Back of Beach among scrubby vegetation adjacent to lake at eastern end. Feeding on ground. Other migrants present. Very flighty, easily flushed so only got a couple of usable shots. Single note call in flight, repeated until it had dropped down again...

Köyceğiz & Mugla area - SW Turkey

Hi Paul, I'm in Dalyan next month. Any recommended places to go around Dalyan/Koycegiz then as I guess much of the summer species will have cleared out? Hope to connect with the Mid-spotted and Syrian Woodpeckers, Kruper's Nuthatch, Pygmy Cormorant, Cretzchmar's Bunting. Have enjoyed reading...

    Seki Ski Resort

I read a trip report that mentioned 'Seki Ski Resort' which is in the Taurus mountains near to Seki. Gogubeli Pass is normally the place people head for up there, but this place seemed to have a different suite of species though it seems a very long and tortuous track from the village of Temel...

Mystery Raptor, Thursley Common, 12 July 2014

Darn it! We walked part way round the back of Pudmore Pond before turning back, due to lack of dragonfly activity, to head off towards Shrike Hill. Oh, to have looked up occasionally. I did hear the Nightjars in the evening as well as snipe drumming just before dark. Cheers, BB

Mystery Raptor, Thursley Common, 12 July 2014

Was it to the A3 side of Shrike Hill on the drier heathland? We were mostly on the boardwalks and skirted round the edge of Shrike Hill before heading back to the Moat car park. Cheers, Adam

    Spotted Redshank, Emsworth

Saw a Spotted Redshank in Chichester Harbour at Emsworth today with a blue ring above a yellow ring on its right leg, and a white ring on its left leg. All above the 'knee' joint. Anyone know where this may have been ringed. Cheers, bb

Apparently, it's around the Capel Fleet area on the Harty Ferry Road, so presumably it's hanging around with the cows down there. Cheers, bb
