    Upton Warren

I don't think I did, perhaps not realising the significance of it at the time. Thankfully it was seen by others and recorded. *slaps wrist*

    Upton Warren

I haven't posted on here in ages, but I had a Marsh Harrier at Upton Warren on 30 August 2008. I don't know if anyone else saw it. http://regthebirder.blogspot.co.uk/2008/08/circus-comes-to-town.html

    Perhaps?

    Is this a Confused?

Had the trap out for the first time in ages last night. This macro is proving difficult to ID. Can anyone help? I have a feeling it could be a Confused, but I'm really not sure.

    Turnip Moth?

I've been puzzling over this one for a few weeks. I think it's a Turnip Moth. Does anyone have any thoughts?

    Birding in Worcestershire

The Black Redstart was still at Shenstone this morning at around 7.00am. There was a Spotted Flycatcher there too.

I would definitely say those are a Ruddy Darter and a Migrant Hawker.

I think the broad antehumeral stripes suggest Southern Hawker.

    Devon Birding

I am in Devon from 2 July for a week. I was wondering what the chances of catching up with the following were: Woodlark (was thinking of Chudleigh Knighton Heath) Pied Flycatcher (sounds like they should be easy in Yarner Wood) Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (Yarner Wood, but assume need a bit of...

    Upton Warren

Where on the reserve have the White-legged Damselflies been seen, and have they been present in reasonable numbers? I haven't seen this species yet and it would be nice to see it locally. Thanks in advance.

Rare and Scarce Birds in Warwickshire

Night Heron The bird was flushed from alders south of Windmill Pool at about 6.15pm tonight. It showed very well for a short period at the south end of the pool, then took off and flew in the direction of Springbrook Lane. It was relocated south of Springbrook Lane at around 7.30pm, I think.

Rare and Scarce Birds in Warwickshire

Most of the causeway birders disappeared just after 9.00pm. It's a real shame the message didn't get through that the bird had been found. I'm going to pop up again at about 5.00pm and can afford to spend a couple of hours looking for it. Let's all behave responsibly if it's found, and all do...

    Birding in Worcestershire

Nice work, Pete. I did manage to see it this morning. A handy addition to the year tally, but more importantly a really good bird for the local patch. I carried on to the Wyre Forest, where things were fairly quiet. A few Wood Warblers were singing, along with the odd Tree Pipit. Saw a Common...

It's a bit early for Common Blues to be about. Could it have been a Holly Blue instead?
