    Adding another species with an eye-ring, seen on the tiny Duchess Islet east of New Guinea. We had to find it quickly and leave in a hurry with a storm approaching, making for a scary and very wet boat ride back to Normanby island: #9680 Louisiade White-eye

    Nice bird! I don't have any tanagers lift, but I'm happy to keep the rufous theme, just going at tiny bit larger: #9662 Rufous Fishing Owl Seen during an amaxing boat ride meandering through submerged palm trees at Tiwai Island, Sierra Leone.

    We have quite different gaps in our Madagascar list! My five are: Tsingy Forest Rail, Mad. Serpent Eagle, Dusky Tetraka, Amber Mtn. Rock Thrush and Red-tailed Newtonia.
