    Thanks Niels, I think I'm now leaning towards an Olympus body as they seem to be generally liked, and if I can stretch to it, the Panasonic 100-400 lens. Any recommendations for best choice for camera body? I'm only interested in stills, not video

    Thanks for the advice. I'm still a little unclear about the image stabilisation. If I were to buy an Olympus body and a Panasonic lens, how would the image stabilisation work? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm just trying to get to grips with the technology.

    I just tried some EL 8x32 Travellers and really liked them and was going to order a pair. Now undecided whether I should wait until next summer. Having said that I tried the 8.5x42 Swarovision and wasn't blown away by them. Anyone like to offer advice?
