    Probably the wrong thread but can anyone recommend a Wilkie talkie/radio for use on the Scillies. Reviews of the Midland GXT1000 suggest they are pretty poor.

    It went missing behind an island for about 2 hours (12 till 2) then reappeared on one of the close islands giving great views. Even Bod Duckhouse's pictures might show something like the bird today! (Sorry Bob)

    Not knowing Doxey very well, are the pollarded trees and screen near the car park at the motorway end of the marsh. Would like to see the Water Pipit.

    Little stint was suggested but I felt bill too big and although it was small compaired to dunlin not small enough for Little stint. Semi-p has been mentioned but I do not have any real experience of them. here is another picture with a Dunlin.

    I have down loaded two pictures of a wader I saw at Titchwell on 23/8/12. They are labelled Dunlin arctica on the strength that some people thinks its a small Dunlin. However I am not entirely convinced. It was with a small flock of Dunlin but was obviously smaller.

    Thanks for the tips. Having two days out I hope to have a few half decent pics to show for it. The weather looks good for Saturday but a bit iffy Sunday. As for seasickness, Ive been okay so far but I will keep taking the tablets.

    I am booked on the Isles of Scilly pelagic later this month. Has anyone got any tips for taking photographs in this environment (apart from take a camera!) I will be using a Canon 7d with the 300mm f4 lens. Thanks Andy

    Thanks for that Michael, Im glad you are not an expert on CF I am only just following the above!! It sounds as if as long as I keep formatting in the camera I should be okay. Thats to Robin also.

    This may appear to be a strange thread but I have been told recently that if you format a CF card in your camera not all of the data is removed, thus slowing the card down.
