    Is anyone able to ID this bird? Was at an altitude of about 3000m. I was some watching snow leopards and I noticed this bird on a rock near where I was sitting. Thanks Kevin

    Spotted Sandpipers only have spots in Summer plumage, so this one is in winter plumage or a juv.

    enjoyed the 100+ waxwings flying over my head in hinckley today, about a minute from my house in front of the national grid. plus i saw small groups flying over around was doing some shopping.

    Most dangerous animals encountered whilst birding

    i once got "chased" by a herd of young looking cows walking along a footpath though a field thats normally empty. they probably thought i was coming to feed them but I wasn't just gonna stand there when they were running towards me.

    Great White Egret today (and yesterday) at sheepy magna fishing lake, saw it for about 5 minutes when i got there but flew off before i could walk around to get a better look. Seems to spend its time between the lake and the flooded fields behind it.
