Looking for an 8x32 in the $300 range

Time for the ignore list. Not me Dennis, but, you have managed to get under someone else's skin. When it comes to the wind up you are in a league of your own. If you were a binocular you would be the very best ie a pair of Zeiss 10x42 Victory fl's. Pete.

Roger Vine’s review of the Zeiss Conquest 8x56 HD

Thumb indents are wonderful, if they fit your hands. Horrible if they don't.

A comparison of prism types, and why the Schmidt Pechan seems to have won the premium binoculars

downgraded to plastic housing. Downgraded I don't think so. Fibre Glass reinforced Polymer is not a downgrade and the body of the Zeiss fl's has stood the test of time. Peter.

    Reading bird rings.

Hi John, It works fine I am pleased to say nice sharp image. Changing eyepieces seems quick enough with the bayonet Baader Diascope adapter. It helps having an excellent tripod and head to keep everything steady. Looking forward to reading a ring or two. Peter.

    Reading bird rings.

Good news as I have an Baader Hyperion 5mm eyepiece arriving tomorrow + Zeiss adapter. Peter. P S Might not be good news! I have read that the Baader Hyperion 5mm eyepiece is the only one that does not focus to infinity on the Zeiss Diascope . Find out tomorrow .

    Zeiss SFL 8x30?

BTW, I got my first Zeiss roof in 1980, and wondered why the Zeiss Jena 10x50. Thought the very same thing when I replaced my Swift 8x40 Grand Prix with 1972 Zeiss Dialyts. Peter.

Spotting Scope Research: Swarovski, Zeiss and Leica

Gitzo, though undoubtedly good, is IMO overpriced and more stability can be obtained for a similar outlay. Some of the Chinese manufactures of tripods and heads are well sorted. I have an Articise AS95C tripod + Benro S6 Pro video head solid as you could wish for. Peter.

Zeiss T*FL 10x42...how does it rate today

Well, now then you ask how do they compare? I won't get into how they compare optically though I love the view through my pair of 10x42 fl's. But without a doubt build wise they are still at the very top and cosmetically the best out of the lot. My pair are 15, years old used daily ,not...

    Swarovski prices going up 7%?

Japan supplying near Alpha quality optics at a fraction of the cost. Until they can match Zeiss in C A control. My Zeiss fl's still control C A better than most, wherever they come from. Peter.

New Zeiss Victory HT 8x54 review from Allbinos

All of this might be all well and dandy, but, it does not change the fact that the Zeiss Victory 10x42 fl is the finest birding binocular ever made.;) Pete.

L Before serial number on Zeiss 20x60 eyepiece (Diascope)

The serial number on my zoom lens ie 20x60 starts L32****. Have not seen a serial number on Zeiss eyepieces start with a letter before! Any ideas? My two guesses 1, Locking 2, LotuTec!! Pete.

    Zeiss 10x40 SFL - Roger Vine's Review

My, there is some tommyrot posted on these forums:eek:. Don't you think Zeiss would have thought about repairs when designing the SFL binoculars....Not as if any of their optics need repairing very often, unlike Swarovski needing to be re-armourd every few months due to the biodegradable rubber...

Leica Trinovid 10x42 BA (999xxx) light reflections when looking through in daylight

I did not think the pre 1990 Trinovid were called BA's .Indeed the The BA's or the later Bn's were never called Ultra's in England. Correct me if I am wrong of course. Peter.
