New "MY Junior" 7x28 aimed at kids

Deal ! :-) I don't care what other people say about me walking around with a candy-coloured bino.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

I don't know.... Doesn't Zeiss make lenses for spectacles too ? Maybe even for implants. Maybe they even coat these things :)

Dusk light performance relative to weight, NL Pure 10x32 vs 10x42

53 years. 40 years of backpacking, And 6 of those years were heavy backpacking as an army sergeant. And I do get it, you want to save weight. But in this case, when you're hauling a big backpack with you, 200 grams will not make the difference.

Dusk light performance relative to weight, NL Pure 10x32 vs 10x42

I think you're wasting time fretting over the wrong thing here. The weight difference between the 32 and the 42 is a mere 200 grams. When your backpack weighs 10 kilos, you won't notice the difference. When you're backpack weighs one kilo, you still won't feel the difference. And since weight is...

Kowa Genesis 8x22 vs. Swarovski Curio 7x21

I tried them together with a Swarovski cl pocket. The Kowa Genesis Prominar 22 XD 10x22. I picked them up, looked through them and decided almost immediately they weren't for me. The Swaro looked nice, a bit constrained afov. Maybe if I had them longer it would be different, it was in a store.

Leica, Zeiss & Swarovski binoculars compared: A personal report

Keep in mind that I'm talking specifically about the white milky haze that covers the underside of the view. I have no experience with other Swarovski's, nor do I own one. My observations are based on the pair of 8x32 Pure's that my woman owns and that I snatch away as often as I can. Too bad...

Leica, Zeiss & Swarovski binoculars compared: A personal report

The trick is not to tilt your head forward a little bit and look up through the binoculars while resting them under your eyebrows, as I am used to doing, but keep them at a 90 degree angle of your face. Then you can even hover them in front of your eyes with no problem. These binoculars are good...

Leica, Zeiss & Swarovski binoculars compared: A personal report

I had the same experience. The milky haze is the reflection of your cheeks in the eyepiece lenses. When you tilt the binoculairs down (ie: when you straighten them out on your face and let the eyecups block the reflected light from your cheeks) it disappears. These are binoculars that you have...

New Swarovski CL version on Swarovskis homepage

I'd rather have these porro's updated with modern eyepieces and eyepiece cups so you get a big immersive view...

    Rarity of technical binocular reviews

You can take measurements all you want, but in the end it's an individual that looks through the bins. And everyone is different and has other priorities. At best you can get an idea of how a pair of binoculars should perform, but that is not a guarantee that it will perform for you. Just as...

    No black ring please

I do this all the time with any binocular. I start with the eye-cups in the retracted position. When I get blackouts in the view I extend them one click, and try again.

    No black ring please

I understand that there will always be a black field stop, but the Meostar and the Pure opened my eyes so to speak, so now I'm looking for a binoculair with a similar 'big' view. I tried different bino's already but you have to visit different places and try to remember how every bino looked...

    No black ring please

When looking through binoculars, I like a big, fat image circle and and a black ring around it that is very thin. This in opposite to the 'looking through a tunnel' effect. A while ago I made the mistake of looking through a pair of 8x42 Meopta Meostar B1's, and what a wonderfull view it was. I...
