If you could have only ONE binocular ? (no list).

I can deal with the other stuff, because the restaurant scene makes up for it…but when you can no longer run a business because the government thinks you have unlimited money. You start thinking how much longer will I keep paying for my own oppression

    B.3 vs C.2

I had the Maven b3 6x30 and c2 7x28 the b3 definitely had better glass. But the c2 7x28 were very pleasing for long sessions. I felt I could look all day. Where the B3 eventually made my eyes tired I’ll be buying another pair of 7x28 eventually

The enduring allure of the 7x50 Porro

My 7x50 Nikon oceanpro are amazing for astronomy. They keep up with some of my 10x binoculars when other people try out all my optics they often pick the Oceanpro as their favorite, even among more expensive binoculars the only downside is they are big and heavy

    Review of Nikon 18X70 Astroluxe

It’s not odd, many astrolux users use them handheld. You can minimize shakes by using natural point of aim (using your bones rather then muscle, among other things) and practice while some astronomers don’t find it satisfying, others like me find it very pleasing to see Saturn framed with...

    Review of Nikon 18X70 Astroluxe

Yes you can , especially in the Nikon plenty of astrolux owners on “cloudy nights” can confirm this

How many ditched their spotter for higher powered bino’s?

The ed50 is the perfect example why to switch I own one and it’s a great piece of glass. But many would agree that the 27x eyepiece starts to dim and that the 16x and 20x eyepiece gives the best views in that case why not just switch to a 18x binoculars for an even brighter image that...

How many ditched their spotter for higher powered bino’s?

I already have I mentioned that scopes are pretty much extinct at PRS events, western hunt gorums are filled with those making the migration, and there was a recent discussion among astronomy forums with people know using binoculars as their sole instrument …just to name a few

    Binocular compared to Spotting scope..

Yeah it’s called eye fatigue it might not effect you, but it’s a factor for others
  18. Blue72

    Binocular compared to Spotting scope..

Yes you can achieve greater magnification on scopes but let’s talk real world many astronomers prefer to be around 2mm exit pupil. With you being on the cloudy night forum, I’m sure your aware of this. Plus many can’t be bothered with those super high magnifications since they are a hassle...

    Binocular compared to Spotting scope..

10x can be limiting, especially handheld plus 18x can have 4.5 degrees FOV with an even greater AFOV Eye fatigue is one of the top reasons why people switch from scopes to high powered binoculars in other hobbies. tines are not large targets and it is popular with bird watchers that try...

how long do you glass for birds in a given session

    Binocular compared to Spotting scope..

Once again missing out on looking for wildlife or watching animal behavior for hours on end , since most people can only glass through a scope for brief periods of time before getting a headache

How many ditched their spotter for higher powered bino’s?

I just Think this forum is slow to embrace what other optics hobbies are gravitating towards in recent times never had a birder at my beach want to switch back to my Nikon ED50 after using the mounted binoculars. All I hear is “oh wow! I gotta get one these” if it’s not your cup of tea that’s...

    Binocular compared to Spotting scope..

make sure you dial it back down when mirages act up, or the exit pupil is to small for dark areas, keep your glassing time limited, and carry a bg back pack

    Binocular compared to Spotting scope..

A 20% increase in aperture is not insignificant

How many ditched their spotter for higher powered bino’s?
