    Scaup

Thanks for the replies and for the question Butty. Head appears rounded and not domed/peaked like the male Lesser Scaups in the pictures. Also the bill appears larger than the nearby lesser. Might be a perspective thing though. I tried to get different angles of the head. Resolution isnt...

    Blackpoll Warbler?

Still working on getting better at fall warblers. Appears to me that it has orange feet, white wing bars and white under tail coverts. The pictures may not be of the same bird. I was chasing it from tree to tree. Pictures taken 9/20/23 in Indiana. Thanks.

    Hawk ID Indiana

Thanks qwerty5. I didnt notice the translucent crescent on the wing and was hoping for a broad-winged hawk after only seeing 4 fingers. Probably was just a bad angle to get the proper count. A Red-shoulder hawk has been hanging out in this area lately. Thanks again!

Pictures taken 9/3/23 and were lightened to see more details. I think I only see 4 primary tips/fingers but maybe it is the angle or my eyes.

Thanks for the help birdmeister. Both species have been known to be present at this location in the past. Just couldn't get close enough to get a better look or pictures. Will try harder next time. :). Guess it will go down as a Trumpeter/Tundra Swan. Thanks again!

    Least Sandpiper? USA

Not a typical location for me to see this bird. It was about 150 feet from the waters edge and in the grass. Didnt seem to fly well( maybe injured). I lightened up a picture to try and get a better look at the legs. Seem yellowish or it could be grass. Picture taken 11/21/22 in Indiana. Thanks.

Looking for help on pictures 1 and 2. Bird 3 is an olive-sided but I never got a look at the front side(1st time bird for me). I think picture 1 and 2 are the same bird that changed locations as I walked along the field. The bird in the first 2 pictures has a dark vest, white throat but...
