Bird ID Viru Viru Airport Santa Cruz Bolivia

Just got back from a great trip to Bolivia 370+ sp all id well! However, whilst on the runway awaiting take-off back home we saw what looked like a large Wheatear strutting around the planes on the runway. It looked mainly grey but restricted views through plane windows hindered full id. Any...

    Travel Tripod

Thanks for the advice however I want to use this as a birding tripod in UK too as I'm tired of lugging my big ole 4.5kg Manfrotto that I have had for a long time. Tend to walk a lot here then stand with a tripod for a long time. So weight is crucial with the max stability v weight possible

Excellent Service from Leica so far?

The rough focus ring on my Leica APO 62 (7 months old and hardly used)failed and just spins around when used. This is the second problem I have had with Leica scopes having lost coatings on my 77 Televid earlier in the year and receiving pretty poor service being without a scope for 3 months. I...

Travel tripod Thanks ever so much for the advice I have considered this very model and with your endorsement will probably go for it. Will ony be using it for my camera occasionally as I've got a heavy Manfrotto for most photo work so will hold on tight when I do!

    Poor service from Leica

Leica Bins Your right there is no dilemma. I had a look throgh new Leicas and Swarvs the other day made comparisons with my 10 yr old Leicas and no difference at all it is just fashionable to walk around with a swanky new pair of bins. I'm very unfashionable. So I don't need to lay out a...

    Poor service from Leica

Finally picked up my scope today. seems like a good job has been done eventually! Now 24th May and I have had to invest in a travel scope in the meantime. Poor service from Leica

I have phoned, them emailed them so have my Suffolk optics dealer. Many times! As for Steve's problem that is how my problem started then most of the coating started to come off! This is a real problem for all Leica owners a new scope now costs £2,500 now. I'm not a happy birder at present.

    Poor service from Leica

    Poor service from Leica
