Tripod/head suggestions for Celestron Regal M2 100 ED birding scope

It's a tough call. I see some use no handle/remove it, some cut them... guess it's preference as to length (Small Rig is adjustable). Good suggestions though. Thanks

Tripod/head suggestions for Celestron Regal M2 100 ED birding scope

I think my tripod is fine. Just need a solid head to hold this 6lb scope.

Tripod/head suggestions for Celestron Regal M2 100 ED birding scope

I guess it's time to buy once and cry once! I have been using an Amazon ball head tripod and it has some big drawbacks using it. I think I want to stay under $500 and get a stable, easy movement and operating setup. I guess something that locks into position easily too inn case you want to throw...

Looking for WiFi video/camera suggestions. Please move if in the wrong section

I looked for a category and couldn't really find where. I'm looking for suggestions to set up my home with video/cameras that are fairly cheap, WiFi capable and possibly can all be used with one phone app (chain). I have a Bluebird nest box I want to put one inside on the roof, one on my main...

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

Just an update as I used them again extensively yesterday finding 45 species in a 2.5 hour session. No complaints at all with how they performed! My only adjustment is going from the 10X down to the 8X and on the opposite side of lake having that little extra reach. It's the same with camera...

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

I went out this morning and put them through a workout! They did great in the field and really helped me pick up on birds easier. The hand feel and ease of adjustment really shine coupled with that large FOV. They also fit in my old magnetic Carson bag just fine with the caps removed (love the...

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

It sounds like you know all the players really well! Lots to like about the HG's including the locking diopter! The Warblers aren't here yet, but I'm headed out in the morning to see how these make my birding easier.

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

Any 10X bins in the 375' FOV worth looking at? I think larger FOV might trump more magnification and especially for Warblers in trees? I'm kind of second guessing if I should have sent for the Mavens just to put that to bed and/or also look at some of the other option. This of course would be...

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

I have been told every step in binoculars is a big step in money and smaller step in returns. Anyone agree with that statement? I haven’t had a chance to field test the HG’s yet, but did do some home testing vs the Carson’s. This weekend will get the field workout! Versus the Carson’s: - The...

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

I ordered the 8x42 MHG from Nikon. They had them refurbished for $685 and free shipping.

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

Weight and bulk doesn't bother me. I carry the bins and a DSLR with 150-600 lens on it everywhere I go and never a bother. I'm built to handle it!

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

This was my first pair of Bins and I think a wider FOV than 314' would help, which picking the 10X probably wasn't the best choice. I know I struggle at times picking up the bird. These seem to do pretty well in low-light, but I would like to get a bump there if possible with a little better...

I have Carson 10x42 3d ED's and want to upgrade to Maven's or similar.

I have these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/851312-REG/Carson_TD_042ED_3D_Series_TD_042ED_10x42.html And plan on giving them to my Wife for her use. I'm mainly a birder and want to step up and they say Mavens are close to Swarovki for ~$1000. That's about my budget for this upgrade. I...

    Nikon Coolpix p900 -v-..........

The 950 was just released and you still have the 1000 out there as well. I have the 900 and looked at the 950 specs. It seems the viewfinder is all that appeals to me and that was the same case when the 1000 was launched.

Replacing P900 and just got back from Best Buy Z50/RX-10 IV

Identity crisis now that I have it in my hands using it. I'm going to be really using the Z50 a ton today with four different lenses. I have the AF-P 70-300 on there now and will move later to the Sigma 150-600 to see how it does with that. I'm debating if the Sony would be the better option...

    Got my Z50 yesterday

The Z50 has Dynamic only from the looks of it. I also don't see any tweak to change the amount of points there. I mainly use Group on the D500 and occasionally use Dynamic 25 point as well. I guess they restricted the Z50 a little there.

Nikon really should have made a longer AF-P

I would have loved to have one in 500-600mm. It's a shame they stopped at 300mm and didn't even offer a 400mm to compete with Canon among others.

I have to research if everyone is just using Group for BIF.

Replacing P900 and just got back from Best Buy Z50/RX-10 IV

It's looking good so far. I'm trying to figure out whether it's what I want at this point. It paired nicely with the AF-P 70-300 and FTZ adapter. I used both kit lenses and the photos looked pretty nice there as well. Tomorrow the plan is to run it with the 70-300 and my 150-600 to see how I...

Replacing P900 and just got back from Best Buy Z50/RX-10 IV

I placed the order last night on the B&H Black Friday deal:https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=Nikon%20Z50%20Mirrorless%20Digital%20Camera%20with%2016-50mm%20and%2050-250mm%20Lenses&sts=pi&pim=Y You can get the FTZ adapter for $96.00 bundled in with the two lenses. It seems the reviews on...

    Got my Z50 yesterday

Looks pretty good. I know 250mm limits the reach and could skew the photos some. Does it focus good?

Replacing P900 and just got back from Best Buy Z50/RX-10 IV

I didn't even know about the Z50! I have had my P900 for years now (2015 original pre-order). It's done some decent things, but technology has changed. I still want to have the video option and both of these fit the mold. The P900 didn't do bad on stills, but sucked at BIF and exposure was...
