    Hoverfly ID? (Holme Fen, UK)

Hi All An outstanding hoverfly from last year. I think it is Eristalis nemorum - dark hind metatarsus, thinner than tibia. The face is very dusted perhaps with a thin stripe down the middle. The only other option I could find was E. arbustorum but the dark hind metatarsus thicker, than tibia...

Hi All Pretty sure this is an Erodium rather than a Gernaium sp. See the crap photo of the leef. Fortunately the picture of the flower is a bit better. The plant stood between 1.5ft and 2.5ft high. From what I can find I think it might be Erodium gruinum? Found near the coast, up from...

Hi All Found this plant along the coast from Corralia Bay (Paphos), Cyprus. There were a lot of them and I thought it would be pretty straight forward for me to ID, but I am struggling. The plant appeared to be bulbous, with one stem rising and the flowers branching off that. Cannot remember...

    Stonechat - Cyprus

Hi All I guess the question here is if any of these are "eastern" stonechats. The male in pic 1 looks like he has way more than a half collar. The Collins 2nd ed. isn't very helpful. Could someone take a quick look and comment accordingly? Yours, Gareth
