    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

Getting any clear skies at night is especially difficult this time of year but it will happen eventually. Usually the wind/rain starts to let up in December and we sometimes get clear, sunny days and very clear nights. We have some sun today! Wow, I almost forgot what the sun looked like...

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

The Zeiss box says "Made in Japan" -- I thought I was clear about this... but why are you making more of what someone says that doesn't even own one and got his info from a 3rd party source? They probably heard "Terra ED" and just assumed it was China. I seriously doubt Eagle Optics sent me...

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

Sure but that may be awhile. Brightness was on par with the Terra Ed. Definitely were not 100% edge to edge sharp but the transitions were very gradual. Just very slightly out of focus bits... I'd guess at 75% or thereabouts. Color was quite good. I would say very neutral but also vibrant...

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

I don't understand.... why wouldn't it? Did you not see the MiJ logo?

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

So I had some time to compare both models. Overall impressions: Optics: 8x25 Pocket. Higher resolution. Definitely noticeable and especially when reading text or when looking at a detailed object far away. (A house, etc.) Physical: Draw. Pocket is half the weight of the 8x32 but the...

Extending an old thread. Binocular comparison.

This is really weird to me. Why would you not extend them fully?

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

Yeah it's almost the same way here Clive. It's not so much the darkness as it is the rain. It's so rainy (think typical UK winter) that there's just not much to see.

Umm they say Made In Japan on the box and on the binocular...

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

Quick update which may surprise a few of you... the Zeiss Pocket models appear to be "Made in Japan."

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

Received the Zeiss 8x25 binoculars today. Very nice packaging and cute case. Very similar to the other Terra ED binoculars but much better design. Optics are very sharp! Very impressed with their resolution. Setting the diopter is kind of a pain but otherwise the bin is quite good. Very...

    ZEISS TERRA ED 8x25 pocket

I'm taking a chance on the 8x25 and will let you guys know how they compare to the 8x32 Terra ED. I should receive mine on Friday.

nikon monarch 5 16x56 vs swarovski 15x56 HD

Well, I think you misread that article somewhat. It says the resolution of the Swarovski is clearly superior that of the other binoculars. It then claims that the low-light test from the Nikon was equal to that of the Swarovski. This doesn't really make sense as I would expect the...

nikon monarch 5 16x56 vs swarovski 15x56 HD

Honestly I've never picked up the Swaros but I can safely say they would have *much* better image quality. The Nikon's are OK if on a budget. The Swaros would be a better investment; however, I would also consider the Zeiss 15x56 Conquest HD which is a very good price right now. Here's the...

    New review - Allbinos 8x56 Conq.HD.

These have really long ER @ 18mm. Do these require the replacement eyecups for non-eyeglass users?

Let's do it again, 8x32 for EDC

Clashes with the ninja outfit eh? |=\|

Let's do it again, 8x32 for EDC

Allbinos also reviewed the Kowa BD 8x32 Prominar and that looks interesting for its price point. It got nearly the same score as the Conquest HD.

Let's do it again, 8x32 for EDC

As I said, my M7 is purely a truck binocular. The M7 is also my bag binocular since it's so lightweight and portable. The Terra I keep indoors for casual viewing.

Let's do it again, 8x32 for EDC

Yes that's true but it stills beats the Zeiss Terra ED. I would expect the Conquest HD to be superior given its price point. I'd like to swing by the Leica store and check out the 8x32 UVHD+ and see how they compare to the M7/Terra ED (in terms of physical size.) B&H has a good deal on the...

Let's do it again, 8x32 for EDC

We just call them furniture cups, casters or sliders. Many terms. Konstantinos, did you have any issues with your focus knob? Mine is a tad stiff. It's *slowly* working itself loose but since mine stays in the truck full-time, I think the cold is starting to affect it a bit. The size of...

Reviews: premium 8x42s - Zeiss SF vs HT vs Leica Ultravid Plus vs Swarovision vs SLC

Yes I have plenty of conditions that will show me CA. Upon receiving my Leica HD+ I used them quite heavily. I couldn't find any CA whatsoever. I'll check again in sunny/cloudy weather but I haven't seen any noticeable CA in my retail sample.

Reviews: premium 8x42s - Zeiss SF vs HT vs Leica Ultravid Plus vs Swarovision vs SLC

Tobias, Regarding your Leica UVHD+ 8x42 review, do you recall the conditions where you saw the CA? I just purchased mine back in early summer and haven't seen *ANY* CA at all. I'm not challenging your assertion but I am very curious to see if I can reproduce your red/green fringing. Do you...

    Conquest HD disappointment

Wow, in retrospect, I guess she may need the longer eyecup. From the Allbinos picture they do look VERY short indeed. Strange that Zeiss didn't just replace all of them going forward with the longer eyecup.

    Conquest HD disappointment

+1 Clearly is sounds like the eyecups were not fully extended or at least one of them wasn't. If she does wear glasses then it's possible the eye relief isn't long enough. The 8x42 model might be a better fit. PS. Since the eye relief on the 8x32 model is 16mm, I wouldn't think the...

    Hd+ - 7x Vs 8x - Help!

I agree. The big difference for me was the eye relief.
