Dark-rumped Swift at Doi Lang, Thailand.

Thanks guys. We have actually had some input from a co-author of the Lynx book, who says - The narrow white rump-patches of Cook's can sometimes be incredibly hard to see in the field. Throat colour is ok for Cook's (though the recent article in latest BirdingASIA has demonstrated how similar...

Dark-rumped Swift at Doi Lang, Thailand.

There is only the one image, regrettably, but what you all say is very informative. We certainly did see Cook's Swifts in the same area on three consecutive days. It's only when you review images that things get interesting.

I suspect not - they are not mine, but a friend who was with me and a small group - as they would have been with the original. Sorry. Did you have any thoughts from what can be seen ?

These images are of the same individual taken at Doi Lang on 12 Dec 2019. Can anybody identify the species please. We thought Grey-crowned Warbler, but it should have an incomplete eye ring. Perhaps Marten's ?

North west Thailand i.d. in December 2019

Hi guys. Thanks to those of you who replied to earlier threads. The locations are likely to be Doi Inthanon through to Doi San Ju/Doi Lang areas. Here are five more. They are not my pics so I cannot confirm if there are two of the same bird or provide different angles. It doesn't matter if there...
