    Opinion on CN

I do enjoy these popcorn moments. I splurged on a 95mm ATX scope. It's good. It's great. Having fondled a few pairs of Swarovski binoculars, I decided against getting them. They look lovely. They feel lovely. They are lovely. They were just too bloody expensive for my needs. Something is now...

Product Review: The Sky Rover Banner Cloud 8 x 42 Binocular

Thank you Neil. Any idea where I could buy some of these? Seem to be missing from their Aliexpress store. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

    Older style ATX foot options.

Hello all. I have an older style ATX scope with the non Arca Swiss foot. What are my options to avoid rotation and securely mount it on a tripod head? How are people dealing with the foot? Once winter comes, I'll probably send off to Swarovski to have it replaced. Thanks Stew

    Night vision equipment for mortals

I have the HIK Micro Lynx PRO 25mm. It's fine. I do wish I'd saved for a bit longer.

Optical comparison of the 8X42 NL Pure to the 8.5X42 EL SV

I'm a binocular novice. I tested an older pair of EL 8.5x42 yesterday and noticed the rolling ball thing. Irritating!

Help me Bird Forum, you're my only hope... new binoculars, £1000. UK.

Not a huge football fan but my Dad is. Doubt he's overly proud to be a geordie this evening. I think I'll just order the GPO on Monday. I'm unlikely to sell and would rather keep as a rainy day binocular if I ever bought alpha. I just want something better than I have now.

Thank you so much for that update. It's really useful. I guess the GPO are still in the game for me.

I think I'd want the smaller form factor of non-porros. Just fitting them in places and carrying them with camera and monopod etc. I may be entirely wrong. But that's my current thinking.

I'm taking today to decide whether to save my pennies for another couple of months and go alpha. And eating cake.

I've handled all of the "usual" alphas. So mostly know what to expect. Obviously can't have them back to back, but the memories are fairly fresh in my addled brain. Is anyone aware of high quality optics emporiums in the North East of England?

I absolutely agree. Testing some alpha binoculars was useful. At least if I order online I can return. Not ideal.

Yeah. I am not sure. I'm not good at getting rid of stuff.

Really torn between the Conquest and the GPO But also torn between 8x42 and 10x42. Arrgggghhh. Thank you all so much for your info so far though! Invaluable!

I think current favourites are GPO Passion HD. I'd have preferred to have seen them in the flesh, but will most likely order online tomorrow. Until I change my mind!

It's a good point. Next lens spend is £12k so probably ways off. I was thinking about spending £1000 on some binoculars and some more on a thermal imaging device. Still undecided though.

Thank you all so far (too many to quote). I had done some basic research on the Meopta, but seemingly tough to get hold of? The B1 Plus are available, but not really required. Any suggestions? Other than that, SFLs or Trinovid or Razor HD? I think the NL Pure will always be overkill for me...
