    Longham Lakes On easter Monday there were 5 Common Sandpiper on the small jetty by the slipway on South Lake. But very quiet on the migrant front with just one Whitethroat and some reed warblers singing.

    Darn, I went to Longham this afternoon though did have a patch first with a male Goosander on the large lake. Paul would it be ok to Pm you with my mobile so you could text me if they turn up next friday or this week I think I could make it over if they turn up as I finish work at 4.30pm

    Very nice! I have been trying to catch up with these birds they always seem to show up when I am at work and when I tried getting there when they were first reported they had moved on. Would love to see them as it would be a first for me as never seen them before.

    RSPB Arne advise

    You can see Spoonbills from Shipstal hide and yes they are sometime up in the middlebere channel I have seen the feeding and moving up the channel viewing from the viewing screen on coombe heath. Shipstal is a good bet though they just might be a sleep out on the sandbank.

    Not sure what was like in the past, but compared to the last 2 years I have seen larger groups of canoiest and model yachts on the large lake this year, now is this because I have been round more oftern are they using it more with this warm weather? Also I have not seen much exposed Island shore...

    Lytchett Fields as been really spectacular just lately with the number of waders and species, but the wood sandpiper as been giving me the run around like that pesky ruff and L stints did last few days. Have hope one would turn up at Longham but only common sandpiper so far at that sight.
