    Painted Bunting in Bonita Springs/Naples

    mikenott, I used to live in this area, during this time of year your best bet to see and photograph painted buntings would be at Corkscrew swamp sanctuary in naples, although they can be seen anywhere here, look for them around the visitor center and possibly the feeders.

    I would rent before you buy and do a field test of the 1.4 and 1.7, I have heard from numerous sources though that the 1.4 is much much sharper. Here is a site where you can get an idea of sharpness compared between the two...

    If you are passing through Fort Myers there's a lake at the intersection of Michael G Rippe Parkway and Ben C. Pratt where they are there year round, also home to spoonbills and white pelicans.
