    Aggressive common tern

Hi guys, I went out for a quick twitch this evening around a v small local reserve, it has a small pond with wooded areas surrounding. Half way around, I noticed 2 common terns overhead and stood on a boardwalk observing them flying around. After a while, one of the terns came down to prod 15...

Where are the Branston Gravel Pits?

Every time I go to BWP I try to find these... Last time I exited the water park at the canal, crossed the bridge where I believe there are two fishing lakes (owned by marstons?). Then I walked a mile or so south down (the right hand side) of the canal, passing the works on the right hand side...

    RSPB Middleton Lakes

I visited between 8.30 and 1pm yesterday, and my favourite visit so far by a mile. The shear diversity of birds there at the minute is brilliant, and even though I couldn't identify a lot of them as an amateur, it took nothing away from the experience. At about 12.30 I walked back through the...

I too have to voice concerns about one of the dogs that confronted myself and fiancée on my first ever visit during the summer. It was very aggressive and my fiancée was quite frightened, so much so that I missed what I thought was my first green woodie sighting. On a serious note though, I do...
