Sorry for the unintended extra images I attached. I've removed them here and left them in the other post.
  6. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara 5

I think I accidentally included some attachments with the other one that I didn't use inside the post. I was in a rush to post before I had to take my kids to swim lessons. I'll be more careful next time and try to delete those extra attachments if it will let me.
  7. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara 5

Reminds me of a Laughingthrush but I'm fairly certain it is not. This guy looks distinctive and finch-y Lesser-masked Weaver? Boubous? LBJ

Not on eBird yet, but thanks. I will put it on my manual list.
  11. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara 3

Was there a limit to the number of birds you can put in one post? A community norm without an official limit? It's been years, I should probably go back and review the rules. A - LBJ B - Shorebird I C - Shorebird II (or still I?) D - Shorebird III? E - Which Plover? F - African Pied...
  12. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara

I think I found a better picture. Or it is a completely different LBJ. Never mind, completely different bird.
  13. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara 2

At first I thought this was another African Pied Wagtail, but too many issues from bill shape to pattern. Not sure where to start with this one. White-backed Vulture? Little Bee-eater? LBJs, 1, 2, and 3 . . Couldn't decide if this was Phasianidae or a shorebird
  14. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara

Here's what I have. I often did not get as many pictures from multiple angles like I would prefer because there were always five or six or eighteen other birds I was trying to get at least one bad picture of.
  15. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Masai Mara

I can't find my African field guide since the move, I could use some help with this raptor. I only have Fork-tailed on my list, but I think this might be a Square-tailed Drongo. Um... my first thought was a Longclaw sp. but I see no hint of a collar. Some sort of Pipit, maybe? Little...
  16. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Urban Nairobi

Thanks, all. I have a list from this trip which makes me think I already did some of these here, but I also think it was mostly assembled from a checklist that I completed with our guide, because with just this selection of four, I added the Wire-tailed Swallow to the existing list.
  17. Sasquatch Fingers

    Kenya - Urban Nairobi

The first one I am fairly certain is a Thrush, thinking Abyssinian, maybe. I can accept "inconclusive thrush sp." as well, of course. Second one... two pics, same bird, slightly different angle, both terrible shots. Gray Wagtail, maybe? Third one, the swallow... I'm probably overthinking...
  18. Sasquatch Fingers

    Is this a Teal

    Tufted Duck.
  19. Sasquatch Fingers

Passerine, no pic, KS, USA July

I just got "contrasty", no real color notions. And that could be lighting, I guess.
  20. Sasquatch Fingers

Passerine, no pic, KS, USA July

Bird was seen at distance without assistance. Relative to the length of the cut grass, it was around the size of a robin (Turdus migratorius). The apparent profile was honestly the shape of a roadrunner (longish, slender neck, pointy, flattish head). I am moderately certain this was a play of...

    India Bird ID-1 ?

So, I don't have my book handy, so I'm not sure about range/time of year, but possibly Long-Billed Pipit? Though all the pictures online I am finding don't have the distinctly bright pink legs.
  22. Sasquatch Fingers

    India Bird ID-1 ?

I feel like I know this one, I think I saw one outside Jaisalmer. Or was it in Assam? If I was at home, I think I could find it in my book/on my life list quickly enough. My brain just isn't firing on all cylinders these days.
  23. Sasquatch Fingers

Small Bird with Black Crown, New Mexico, No Image

Sorry, I also feel like I would have noticed the yellow on the WW, so he's out too.
  24. Sasquatch Fingers

Small Bird with Black Crown, New Mexico, No Image

I feel like I would have noticed the bill if it was a finch and it definitely had a pale throat, so that rules out the Bridled. I also feel like I would have noticed the BIG black eyes on the pale face of a Black-Crested. For now, I'm thinking one of W. Warbler, BT Gnatcatcher, of Pygmy...

Small Bird with Black Crown, New Mexico, No Image

I was attracted to a mature pine tree by a bird call (I could not possibly provide a description, sorry) and, after peering around for several minutes, spotted a very, very small (at or close to hummingbird size) bird. The lighting was not good, but I don't think it had a distinct bill...
