    Digidapter vs. Swarovski DCB II

I use a Panasonic GX7 camera with 20 mm or 30 mm lens. I always leave my camera on the scope when walking (and biking) and never had a problem.

    Digidapter vs. Swarovski DCB II

When using the DCB II I often flip it upwards to look through the telescope without the camera. I never take off the digidapter to do that. I don't like to stand or sit with camera/digidapter in my hand and find too much of a hassle to put it in a bag or something like that and take it out...

    New to digiscoping

Hi Beachy, Maybe you already know by now, but it is best to set your camera to 'aperture priority'. ISO at 400 or even 800. That's necessary to get enough shutter speed. Use manual focus. Then you only need to focus your telescope - with the camera in place- and not the camera. Use a stable...

    Micro Four-Thirds

The 400mm + 2x is the winner. 135 Meters might be little too far for both, but to photograph a rare bird that doesn't come close it is a nice thing to have the 2x.

    Digiscoping- Swarovski or Zeiss scope?

Hi Mick 50. I don't know if an answer is still relevant. I only use(d) a Swarovski telescope. At first the one you mention above and now the STX 95 and they are very good telescopes. From what I have read the Zeiss is also a fine telescope. For both brands the digidapter can be used to place a...

Best adaptor for Sony rx100 iii and ATX 85?

The digidapter is my favourite adapter too, when my focus is primarily on digiscoping, because then I almost never feel the need to take the adapter off to look throught the eyepiece. But I use the Swarovski DCB II is when my focus is primarily on bird watching, because it is much easier to...

    Spotting scope photography

Make or buy an adapter to mount the camera behind the eyepiece, using a 20-50 mm lens (try which focal length works best). Then zoom in with the telescope untill vignetting disappears. Put the camera on 'aperture priority', choose the widest aperture (lowest number) on the camera and shoot...

    Nikon D5200 Digiscoping

I am not sure. I never used a DSLR for digiscoping. Maybe you could experiment to find out. Place an object at a certain distance and take photographs at different shutter speeds (camera on sturdy tripod). I did that once to find out the shutter speed above which shutter slap of a micro 4/3...

    Nikon D5200 Digiscoping

DSLR's are not the best camera's for digiscoping because of vibrations caused by the mirror movement. I don't know the Sahara spottingscope, but looking at its price I doubt its quality.

    Long distance digiscoping

I use the digidapter and the DCB II, but find the digidapter better for long distance work. Reason is, that it is a more stable, aluminium construction then the DCB II, making it much less prone to vibration, which is especially important with long focal length's and long distance photography.

ATX-85, DCB II and Fuji X100

Uhu74: could the problem of unsharp images be caused by shutter shock? This is a known problem with mirrorless camera's when shooting at slow shutter speeds (1/200 - 1/250 or slower). I had it with my Panasonic untill I switched from mechanical to electronic shutter.

    Digidapter vs. Swarovski DCB II

I also have a digidapter now and I already love it. I found all positive remarks in this thread to be true. I agree with Tara, that the only reason to use the DCB-II (which I also have) would be in a situation where the option to swing the camera away from the eyepiece is important.

    Adapters for Nikon d3200

Maybe the digidapter is an option. The dimensions are somewhere on the webpage, so you could find out if the camera plus the lens you want to use fit on the adapter platform. There's also an extender for the platform. It's a very good adapter.

    Disocoping with the Panasonic GH4

The digidapter is an adapter to mount a camera behind the eyepiece of a telescope. See for more information http://www.digiscopeadapter.com/

    TLS APO plus Panasonic GX7

Yesterday I bought the GX7. I use it on my Swarovski 95 stx, but not with the TLS apo. I use the 20 mm f/1.7 pancake lens. A 30x magnification of the 95 stx plus the 30 mm TLS apo will give a 35 mm equivalent tele length of 1800 mm, which I find is to long for birds nearby. I have used this new...

    Disocoping with the Panasonic GH4

Alas, it is not possible on the G3 (and GX1) to use the SH burst mode when the ex. teleconverter is ON (if you mean that with 'extra reach'). So, when using that extra reach of the G3, it is not possible to prevent shutter shock otherwise then using high shutter speeds. Which will make this 'ex...

    Disocoping with the Panasonic GH4

I always use the fastest (SH) burst mode on my G3 and GX1. Disadvantage is, that you can only shoot small (4 mp) files. Advantage is, you can use the electronic shutter only and have no vibration caused by shutter shock at all. Below exposures of 1/200, shutter shock occurs with all other burst...

    Swarovski TLS800 Adapter

I meant refocusing the scope. The camera doesn't need to be focused when the image is sharp when focusing with the scope. Its easier to see if the image is sharp when looking through the scope, but with some practice looking through the camera workes equally well.

    Swarovski TLS800 Adapter

I also use the DCB-A adapter. There's no need to move the camera away from the eyepiece untill the bird stops moving. Just look through the camera while tracking the bird and refocusing. Saves time. I also use the G3 and - mainly- the GX1 for digiscoping. If you ever want some more reach, I can...

    Swarovski TLS800 Adapter

Most digiscopers make photograph's without removing the eypiece from the telescope, so I don't think many people will have experience with the TLS800.

    Olympus 25mm f1.8 versatility

Possibly, yes. I use the 30 mm f/2.8 Sigma and it works very well. So if the 30 mm Panasonic is of the same or better quality it will work well too. I am interested in the new Panasonic 42.5 mm lens, for very long distance shots. It's only about 50 mm long, so I think it will fit on my DCB-2...
