    Very busy at the bird feeder today!

    Goldfinch with fledglings Had a Goldfinch with 4 fledglings on my nyger bird feeder this morning very young flapping around and still unable to feed themselves , isnt this a bit late in the season, possibly a second brood

    Have seen 3 small groups of Barnacle Geese in the river meadows on the Ivel River Bedfordshire, 2 groups of 6 and another of 2 birds in different meadows, my guide books say these are only winter visiters to Britain, is this true or as I suspect they are not that uncommon.

    I was leaning towards the Nikon porro, but the focus distance could be a issue for me, so will probably go for the Opticron, unless there is a similar porro to the Nikon out there within my budget

    Im 66 just retired and having just bought myself a new Bike, now need a pair of Binoculars, have a very old pair but too heavy, need 8-10 x 35-42 can someone recommend a reasonably light pair for under £100, cheaper the better but must be fairly decent, Live near RSPB Sandy so its a lovely ride...
