    Matt. I can let you have details of the small white site. I see I was there on 3 June 2014 when 4 plants were in full flower. I also have sites for a few other species flowering around that time. Please message me. I don't know if they have come up this year.

    Simon, They may not be there this year. I was over at Grays Quarry, photographing the man orchids at the end of May. I met a local who had seen GFH in the past and we went to look for them in the woods at the bottom of the quarry, to the south west of the lake near the quarry walls. We failed...

    Small White in Yorkshire There are recent reports from a couple of sites in Swaledale, with flowering at the end of June 2012 and in early July 2015. I will pm you details. The only time I have seen this orchid was on 3rd June 2014 at Asby (4 plants).

    David, Thanks for the directions. I managed to catch one of the BTO clumps still in good condition, although past its best now. Afterwards I went on to Yarnbury Castle, on the edge of Parsons Down, where BTO had been reported by Simon in 2015. I'm pleased to say, there were about 100 there...

    Martyn, Jack Scout in Silverdale, Cumbria is the nearest location I know. This is only 40mins drive from the NW Dales and has wonderful coastal scenery. There were plenty of ALT there last year at the southern edge of the site, on the path nearest the sea. Dave

    They were fine last weekend as were the LSO. One GBO but no sign of musk yet. Bonsai bank was looking fantastic with Lady still in good bloom and 40ish GBO starting to flower.

    Samphire Hoe I was there on 17 April (photo attached). Everything else in Kent is 2 weeks late, so I presume the Early Spiders will be the same.
