    Birding central (ish) Brussels

    Also watch out for Peregrines above the city, there are several breeding couples. The Zonien forest at the southern edge of the town is also worth checking for forest birds. Best regards ROW

    Not much news to announce, the Eider is still in the area. Geese numbers now are between 500-1000 in the area. We are now waiting for the first Black-tailed godwits to arrive, the earliest birds can arrive end of the month. Best regards ROW

    Here at my feeder: Tree- and House sparrow, Greenfinch , Finch, Blue tit, Great tit, Long-tailed tit, Pheasant, Turtle dove, Wood dove, Common gull, Herring gull, Black-capped gull, Blackbird, Magpie, Jackdaw, ... Still waiting for the first brambling Siskins, Goldfinches etc. Best regards ROW

    The feeder still has Greenfinch, Finch, as well as 3 Treesparrows, not so common here. A couple of Treefinches has started to occupy the nestbox and build a nest. Let's hope that they stay untill the breeding season. An male Eider turned up in the local lake here, Eiders are uncommon inland...
