    Just back from a week in Watamu and was ably guided by Jonathan Baya and his son Stephen. We visited Arubuko-Sokoke forest twice, highlights included Clarke's Weaver, a "Mary and Joseph" pair of Sokoke Scops Owl, Malinda Pipit and Southern Banded Snake Eagle.     Thanks all, thinking about it, it probably did sound like one. I assume its a first year bird, hence lack of distinct eye ring and grey head plumage ?

    Impressed by posts on this thread I picked up this lens yesterday for use with 70d. First attempts in back garden today with gloomy uk weather very encouraging. Goldcrest are very skittish and the autofocus appears a bit quicker than with my 400 f5.6.

    The first on left is one of several seen flitting among Cyprus Wheatear so guessing its a juvenile ? the second I suspect is a Sardinian Warbler (which were in most places) but have seen several photo's marked up similar to this as a Cyprus Warbler. thanks again
