    p.s. they used to breed on Maiden Rock which is very easy to see by scope from the shore but there were none last year and I think none the year before that. Is is best viewed from Coliemore Harbour, south of Dublin near Dalkey but they may have gone from that site.

    Cape Clear bird observatory

    I just spent the week there. It does not have a warden but it is still running. You cannot turn up and get a key unless you pre-book. The people you get a key off have a list of who is booked in. It is sad not to have Steve and Mary there after all these years but it is still running.
