    Birdguides new system

I like the new Android app as the gallery has gone and there are notifications in Android (although currently you have to setup sending a email to yourself for each bird you want a notification about so you get both). They are going to improve this implementation shortly apparently. I agree the...

    Yellow patch on back, UK

Hi, any thoughts on this picture taken yesterday near Guisborough? Superficially resembles Yellow-rumped Warbler but a few things dont look correct. The size was thought to be chaffinch size or maybe a bit smaller https://twitter.com/NeilSimms1/status/577749381094481920

    Barbed Wire on Nature Reserves.

The RSPB has it all over their Saltholme reserve next to where this happened and deer hang out. There is enough problems in the area with poachers without the rspb adding to their woes

    Scottish pine martins

I was at the Glenmore Cafe in March and they had not had a pine marten there for a while (I didnt see one in 8 nights in the bar/cafe) but I was told that they were hanging around the bins at the Glenmore Lodge just up the hill. More suppression in Cornwall

I've just remembered we also had some problems here a few years ago with some reports from a "Will Robinson". I might be worth a look at some of his posts if you can find them as I think he posted a couple of times on this forum complaining about people commenting on his sightings. Some mention...

    More suppression in Cornwall

For those who missed it the name of the person who owns the phone number that called in the hoaxes about the Sooty Tern etc is now well known in the North East. Last I heard he is now claiming his cousin spoofed his mobile number and made the calls http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=215941

not really but going on the shape of the leading edge of the forewing I would go for Ingrailed Clay but not 100% sure. As for Brown Hawker I had a first for the garden a few days ago

Hi, I think that 2 is actually a female Barred Chestnut. Number 5 looks like either a male Barred Chestnut or Ingrailed Clay but not sure which from the photo - its easier in the hand Regards, Jamie
