Juvenile Meadow Pipit or something else? Isle of Wight UK

I took this photo last week at the Needles battery, Isle of Wight, UK. Poor quality pic as it was taken through glass with a smallish camera. My first thought was female/juvenile Black Redstart. The habitat and size were right and there was a slightly rusty look in the rear parts. Meadow...

Yellow legged vs. Lesser black backed Gull, Kent UK

The mantle colour of this gull makes me think that it is a Yellow-legged Gull but are there other features that would identify it as a Lesser Black Backed Gull? Grateful for any help and especially reasons if you can ID. The bird was in an estuary and there was at least one other of this type...

    Costa Rica, large Grey bird

I have a feeling that the ID of this bird, pictured in Tortuguero in March, should be fairly obvious, but it isn't. Not helped by the angle. Can someone ID please? Thanks Pat

We booked this as a Natural Splendours of Costa Rica trip through Cox and Kings and travelled as part of a group of 20, mostly non/inexperienced birdwatchers. It was our first trip to Costa Rica but some of the birds were familiar from Florida and elsewhere in North America/the Caribbean...

Which way is up? Costa Rica bird March 2017

Just reviewing my photos from a couple of weeks back and came across this one. It was taken on the Caribbean side of Cost Rica and shows the bird displaying. There was a Montezuma Oropendola colony in the grounds of the lodge but I cannot reconcile the colour scheme of the bird in the photo...

Four Hummingbirds and a Raptor - Costa Rica

Grateful for any help with these, all taken in the last few weeks. No idea about the Hummingbirds, which were at the Monteverde Hummingbird Garden. Sorry for the poor quality pics. Raptor was close to Monteverde NP and I have been given an opinion that it is a Gray Hawk.
