    Black Redstart in Cappadocia - but which ssp?

    Spotted this lovely guy in Cappadocia, central Turkey, last week (Oct 2014) and was curious to find out which subspecies it was. A bit of searching has thrown up several good threads discussing similar-looking birds (e.g. here and here), and whether they are actually common redstart/black...

    Grasshopper Warbler in the UK

    A bit of a reverse query.. are there any insects who sound like the Grasshopper Warbler? If I hear something and think "ah, a Grasshopper warbler!" how likely is it to actually be a grasshopper or similar?

    Egg ID - East Lothian, Scotland, UK

    Hi! I found this nest in grass on the edge of some pine forestry. I accidentally scared the brooding bird away and took a quick snap before legging it and leaving them in peace, so I have no idea what it might be.
