    Western Scrub Jay

    I believe that Western Scrub Jay has been split into Californian and Woodhouses. I have seen birds in Carmel and in the Grand Canyon. Are these likely to be Californian (Carmel) and Woodhouses (Grand Canyon). Any help would be appreciated.

    Gulls in St Lucia

    Help! Please help me i.d these gulls, photos taken in St. Lucia in January. First photo I think is American Herring Gull. The bird was roosting with Royal Terns and was about the size of a Herring Gull. The second photo I think shows Laughing Gulls. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Canary Islands Chiffchaff

    I took this photo of what I thought was a Canary Islands Chiffchaff due to its song and plumage. However, The Handbook of Bird Identification for Europe and the Western Palearctic states that the bird should have pale legs. The bird in the photo has dark legs. Any suggestions. John Taylor

    Dragonfly, Bocquer Valley, Mallorca

    I photographed this dragonfly in the Bocquer valley at the beginning of this month. Any ideas what it is? When the sun shone on its wings they sparkled with gold, a truly beautiful sight, it reminded me of a fairy, not that I've seen a fairy.
