    Hepatic Tanager

A Hepatic Tanager has been spotted in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Canada. This is the first sighting in the province and the 2nd in the country. A female was seen in Montreal in 1993. Here is a short video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=knwKE3mv97E&NR=1

    is this ok?

I took some photos of Bohemian waxwings eating the mountain ash berries in my yard. They were taken through a window on a very grey day (it was very cold outside, and anyway, opening the door made the birds fly away!). At the time I was aware that this wouldn't lead to top notch pictures - but...

    monitor info needed

We are finding it increasingly difficult to see things well on our monitor (Samsung 753DF). Our difficulties may be coming from our advancing age and vision problems I suppose. There again maybe the monitor is ready to get ditched for something better. Do monitors wear out, get fuzzier with...

    diopter help please

I have a Panasonic FZ10. I wear glasses some of the time. Mostly I find the glasses annoying when using the camera. Can someone please explain the proper use of the diopter? Do I set it while wearing my glasses? Do I then wear my glasses when using the camera or do I remove my glasses to use...

I have a mountain ash (rowan) tree outside a bedroom window. After the latest visit by Bohemian waxwings it is berry-less until next year! I have attached a couple of photos - one showing a Boh doing a headstand and one with a snow covered crest. I also feed with sunflower seed, nyger seed...

    Cedar waxwings

I have been waiting for ages for the annual descent of the Cedar Waxwings on my mountain ash tree. Will try to attach a photo to prove that they arrived. Quality is poor as it is so cold now that I shot the picture through the window. Sask

    burning to CD

OK - I'm not too shy to admit that computers confuse me. I have Photoshop Elements as my picture handling programme. I want to put certain photos on a CD so I can take it to a local store for printing. Problem is I can find instructions to print at home and to send files to an online printing...

    I try again!

This should work - I've followed all the directions and the file I want to attach is listed at the bottom of the page under Attach Files. It seems to me that it would be easier if the attachment showed up right away in the post I'm writing! House wren leaving nestbox. It is rather small - so...

    first try at posting

Hi - I don't know much about using forums - or technical details about digital photography. This seemed to be a great site to learn more. I have a Panasonic FZ 10. Yesterday some wrens started to build a nest in one of our nestboxes. I grabbed the camera and started shooting. The nestbox...
