    Victoria Australia - cheeky challenge

    This bird was seen foraging around tree trunks on Kennett River, along the Great Ocean Road and disappeared before I could get a full picture. However it was about Sparrow size and the tail looks distinctive so maybe someone can ID it.

    Short trip to Picos de Europa

    John Kirby and Mick Bell 14th - 19th May 2023 This was a short trip to the area primarily to visit Fuente De for alpine birds. After persistent light rain on the 15th the weather was generally sun and clouds averaging 15C but at the top of Fuente De was 5C. We used Gosney's "Finding birds...

    Gull - Portugal Algarve near Rio Formosa

    This gull appeared to be a Black backed Gull but had a pronounced dark ring towards the end of its bill - far more than I've ever seen before. We saw several more like this. Any ideas? Sorry for the poor quality photos.

    These were seen last June. One a weaver and two pictures of ? Whydah/Widowbird. Any ideas?

    Borneo raptor

    A friend sent these photos taken in Borneo early March. This was identified as Wallace's Hawk eagle but he isn't convinced. Any ideas? The photos aren't good but in the preening one a crest can be seen. Thanks
