    Question: Red Tailed Hawk

Observing a Red Tailed Hawk, I noticed that when it made a treetop landing, it didn't fold up it's wings, but just made the landing and left it's wings spread. I was thinking I disturbed it, and it planned on flying to the next treetop in the next few seconds, but was not exactly sure. Is...

    Dancing with the Birds

Has anyone seen "Dancing with the Birds" on Netflix? The wife and I found it very informative on bird behavior and mating rituals. A very entertaining and even funny documentary, I recommend it highly to learn about bird behaviors.

North America - Northern Idaho - Bonner County - Cassin's Finch?

I thought it looked kind of slender compared to the ones I saw on the Allaboutbirds.org, but it still looks like it could be a Cassin's Finch.

Black Capped Chickadee and snow shoveling.

Was in the driveway snow shoveling and looked up and there was a pair of Black Capped Chickadees bouncing around the feeders. I hated to have to throw snow their direction while they are eating, since it was so nice of them to join me while I was trudging away in the driveway.

I took several shots of this bird during our (My wife and I) visit to the Northern Oregon coast, I researched it, but the best I could come up with is a Pelagic Cormorant, but not sure due to the overcast and foggy conditions.

Thanks for all who replied to help ID what turned out to be a Pine Siskin. This one turned up just yesterday afternoon and it looks like it could be of the Finch variety, that is if I'm not mistaken. (Yes, I need a better bird guide)
