    Kruger, South Africa - March 2022 - Tawny with mangoose?

    Three views of the same individual. I guess this is a Tawny. But I'm always afraid to confuse them with Walhberg's. Bonus question. Maybe off topic, as this is a birding forum (not a "mammaling" one). Is the prey a mangoose? Which one? Is there a site as good as birdforum but for mammals?

    South Africa - March - Water thick knee with black eyes

    Kruger, South Africa 06th of March Size of a Water thick knee. Looks like one too. Except for the eyes. 5:44am. Maybe it would cause the pupils to open wide and give this strange effect. Or is it just another bird?

    Not Black-winged lapwing, as it doesn't have the red ring around the eye. Not African wattled Lapwing as the legs are reddish instead of yellow. I'm puzzled
