    Nice couple of days...

    Yesterday drove out to the gravel pits near Cañada de Rianzuela (Dehesa de Abajo) on a tip-off and saw a pair of Ferruginous Duck and a Red-knobbed Coot on the nest.     I have just transferred my old Dawes Mean Street hybrid from UK to our place just outside the Donana National Park in Spain. Much of my bird watching is now done on the bike rather than in the car. It's a far better way to watch birds as one can easily see around and overhead, stopping is quick...

    Garden bird oddity (UK)?

    We saw this bird in our garden in Hertfordshire UK yesterday. We are having difficulty identifying it. The angled eyebrow with a pale eye-ring confuses us. Apologies for the poor quality pictures, taken through a window with some reflections.
