    Possible Yellow-legged Gull, Cambridgeshire

    Out snapping on Sunday when we met a fully trained birder who considered this might be a yellow-legged gull. He would research further when he got home. It was very distant and only presented a side view and this is my best effort. Any views please? Thanks Colin

    England maybe a thrush ID

    This was in a hawthorn with a blackbird and difficult to see. I thought it might be a redwing but I could not get a view of the head and it is not very red! None of the thrush pictures I have seen include a rear view like this (not unreasonably so). Thanks

    Gull ID

    I don't live near the sea or large lakes, so most of my photos of gulls show the undersides. I have all the usual UK/Europe bird guides but I don't find these particularly helpful in this regard. I would welcome recommendations that might help, please. Thanks Colin
