I initially identified this as a Laughing Gull, based on the dark hood and the dark wing tips. Looking at photos on line, however, I have begun to wonder if it could be a Franklin’s Gull. There is a bit of pale color at the base of the black on the upper side primary tips, and the black there seems quite limited. I am traveling without my usual resources and am not sure what I have.

Primary feather P6 is barred on the tip, there's a pale shadow along the inner border of black primary tips (stronger on the underside) and the blask tips are reduced. These are good pointers for sub-adult Franklins Gull (avanced 1° summer or immature-like 2° summer?), plus general structure, big head and short slim bill. Pinkish flush (rather strong) on the body is also more reminescent of Franklin's...

Hi. The Grey panel on the underwing primaries/secs, looks pretty good for a Laughing.... maybe?
i think that is still in range for Franklins, as this species can show that also but less pronounced

some Franklins

everything else in the bird in question points to Franklins for me
