MOORS: Med Gull ( 2x 2s), Common Tern (3), Avocet (4), Oystercatcher (2), Pochard (m), Gadwall (4), Shoveler (pair), Shelduck (1), Tufted Duck (27), B H Gull (c300), Cormorant (1), Sparrowhawk (m).

FLASHES: Avocet (48), Ringed Plover, LRP(2), Oystercatcher (2), Lapwing (3), Common Sand (1), Gadwall (2), Shoveler (1), Shelduck (2), BH Gull (c100).

Today's highlights from the Moors and Flashes.

MOORS: Med Gull ( Ad + 2 x 2S), Avocet ( 26) + 3 chicks, Lapwing (3), Oystercatcher (2), LRP (1), Little Egret, Pochard (m), Gadwall (4), Shoveler (m), Shelduck (4), Common Tern (3).

FLASHES: Avocet (30), LRP (2), Oystercatcher (2), Shelduck (3), Shoveler (f), Common Tern (1).

Close views of Cuckoo both at the Moors and Flashes this afternoon - the latter from the ... Cuckoo Hide. Either the same or two birds. Yellow Wagtail at the Flashes of interest. Seemingly fewer Avocet but didn't count them. On the Moors, 3 Mediterranean Gulls again. 2 Otters causing havoc - one attempting to get up the island furthest from the east hide. Otherwise pretty much as yesterday although did get a Hobby at the Flashes yesterday mid day.
 
Just thought I'd put these on... from last year when the sun was shining. From Lapwing - up close enough to smell the fish !!

Still a vocal Cuckoo at both Moors and Flashes this afternoon-the latter visible from the Cuckoo hide still. Single Red Kite at the Flashes.
Pair of Mediterranean Gulls and Common Tern still at the Moors. An Otter again, this time wrestling with an Eel or Snake maybe, in front of the concrete hide. Water Rail on the causeway briefly, Garden Warbler in song at the North Moors main highlights.
 
Today's highlights at the Moors and Flashes:

MOORS: Med Gull (2x 2s), Avocet (17), Oystercatcher (2) + 2 chicks, Pochard (m), Teal (m), Shoveler (m), Shelduck (2), mixed flock of hirundines, mainly House Martins (c60), Cuckoo, Common Tern (1).

FLASHES: Dunlin (3), LRP (4), Lapwing (3), Oystercatcher (2), Avocet (30), Shelduck (8) + 9 ducklings, Shoveler (m), Gadwall (6), Cuckoo.

Moors this morning highlights were large numbers (c40 to 50) Swift, plus egually impressive hirundine numbers, mainly House Martin. 2 Whitethroat, Cuckoo still, Red Kite drifted behind North Moors, pair Mediterranean Gulls. A pair of Otter with one cub feeding and playing in Amy’s Marsh from Jacob’s Hide.

Flashes - a single Dunlin in summer plumage, 9 Shelducklings showing well, pair Common Tern, single Whitethroat and Lesser Whitethroat, another Cuckoo main highlights
