Taken on 4 February round Narrabeen Lagoon, north of Sydney. Awful stills from holiday video, probably at 90x zoom! All the same bird.....but what bird? Any help greatly appreciated.

Don't suppose I'd look further than brown thornbill (some brown/rufous on uppertail-coverts but could easily be photo-aritfact), maybe striated thornbill.
 
Brown for sure. The shots with the face rule out striated even at low res, plus they are more olive-brown than grey-brown.
 
Sorry, pressed 'reply' by mistake. Looking back at the original video there are striations which must be blurred out in the stills. Lack of white stripe above eye also turned me away from Striated.
