Hi ffatbirder Thanks for this. Is useful for me as Germany is often one of those places we visit so hopefully next time I will get some birding in.

    Birding near Koln/ Cologne

Hi Patrick Link to answer on previous thread. I was in the area last year and thought tha'ts what I had seen. Not sure if its the area you were thinking of. https://www.ornitho.de/

    UK roadkill stats

Ahh, I see. Probably not a good idea then. Any chance of a re route or wildlife tunnels?

A good idea. Perhaps rather than a possibly unenforceable speed limit a few strategically placed speed bumps would help?

    Redpoll ? ID UK cambridgeshire

Thanks! Though both Redpoll males still have red on the upper breast. It was an awkward view at the time. Looking up and birds never sit the right way for their photo shoot!

I had ruled Linnet out because of the coloured patching on the breast. On Linnet this looks to be split on the Redpoll its in one patch.

    UK roadkill stats

    Redpoll ? ID UK cambridgeshire

    Thetford Forest (England)

Last Monday 8th April) in kings area. Warbler? Stuck on this one. Nothing seems to match the colouring on the flanks or if it does the eye strip does not fit. What am I missing? Sorry did not notice the call.

    Goshawks -Koln area

Hi there After a recent visit to Germany i saw some birds in the Koln city area that i believed to be Goshawks. Very built up area and high buildings. Too big for Peregrine (which we are more used to seeing in the UK cities now). Unfortunately not much detail as view was poor due to sun rays...
