    As the above replies; from the Shepherd’s Hut the Bluethroat perched on the two right hand sticks, and was also seen in the tops of the reeds both sides of the path through the gate. Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler, Meadow Pipit and Skylark also present in the area.

    Was there on Sunday, brilliant views of 2 Kingfishers from Kingfisher hide, as well as a pair of Cranes with 2 chicks, and the briefest glimpse of a Marsh Harrier. Going back today to hope for the Bluethroat.

    In answer to your question; in Zoology new taxa are allowed to be described in a range of languages, including Latin, whereas in Botany every new species must have a diagnosis in Latin (this may also apply to other ranks, can’t say I’ve ever read the Botanical code!)

    Bear in mind adult dragonflies change colour as they mature. Hairy Dragonfly is (almost) the only Dragonfly of this type to emerge this early in the year.

    Leatherback is dark and has no visible scales on the head. You have also labelled the photos as Loggerhead!

    I presume you meant Loggerhead rather than Leatherback for the turtles.
